Ready, Set, Engage! Planning Effective Community Engagement
Many libraries already use community engagement techniques as part of their community assessment process, and anyone who has worked at a reference desk has many of the skills needed to engage effectively.
Find out how libraries can use community engagement techniques to better serve their communities and improve library services, beyond the needs assessment. We will talk about opportunities for libraries to use community engagement and introduce the essential elements of respectful engagement and a variety of engagement tools and best practices. Participants will have the opportunity to complete a one-page Public Engagement Plan for a project of their choosing during the session. The session will close with practical tips for implementing your plan successfully.
