A series of my poems, “The Raspberry Dress,” has been published in the Fall 2007 issue of Legacy. The poems were inspired by a dress owned by Mrs. Richard Secord that was part of an exhibit at the Edmonton Art Gallery in 2003. My grandmother, Natalia, worked for the Secords after immigrating to Canada in the 1920s – which made the dress even more compelling to me. I’m thrilled that the staff at Legacy were able to track down the dress and include a photograph with my four poems.
